With its 473 hectares of land, the park's nature centre offers residents a place to explore the green grasses around them. This former farmland also provides habitat for hard-to-find grassland and birds. You will see many of the same birds in your Connecticut backyard, such as owls, birds of prey, squirrels, bats and more.
If you can't wait for the national fair to see the farm animals, visit UConn for a day to see Holstein and Jersey cows, sheep and horses, and some of the farm animals. It will be easy to take your children to the Children's Museum in Southeast Connecticut. This museum is sure to be a hit with the whole family, especially if you're on a day trip to South Central Connecticut!
